چکیده
Abstract Metallic phase change materials (MPCMs) are attracting considerable attention for their application in thermal energy storage. Al–Si alloys considered potential MPCMs; however, to develop storage systems/modules, it is crucial fabricate corrosion-resistant MPCMs. In this study, the corrosion behavior of Co−28Cr−6Mo−1.5Si (wt%) alloy was examined via immersion tests commercial Al−Si (ADC12) melt at 700°C 10 h. The results were compared those obtained pure Al. Substrate thickness loss measurements revealed that liquid metal more severe than Al, suggesting an increased reactivity due Si addition. Interfacial analysis elucidated a direct reaction between substrate and molten Al both cases. Furthermore, formation oxides such as 2 O 3 SiO did not contribute resistance.

Effect of Deformation-Induced Defects on the Microstructure and Pitting Corrosion Behavior of Al-Ag Alloy
In this study, a wide range of combined ageing treatments and cold work deformations in the Al 4.2 wt% Ag alloy matrix were proposed, aiming to investigate the effect of defects such as precipitates (Ag2Al plates) and dislocations on the mechanical and electrochemical behavior of Al–4.2 wt% Ag alloys. Further reductions of thickness from 10 to 60%, decreases the mean size of Ag2...
متن کاملCorrosion Behavior of Al-2wt%Cu Alloy Processed By Accumulative Roll Bonding (ARB) Process
Accumulative roll bonding (ARB) imposes severe plastic strain on materials without changing the specimen dimensions. ARB process is mostly appropriate for practical applications because it can be performed readily by the conventional rolling process. An Al-2wt%Cu alloy was subjected to ARB process up to a strain of 4.8. Stacking of materials and conventional roll-bonding are repeated in the pro...

The corrosion behavior of 2A02 Al alloy under 4 mg/cm² NaCl deposition at different temperatures (from 30 to 80 °C) has been studied. This corrosion behavior was researched using mass-gain, scanning electron microscopy-SEM, laser scanning confocal microscopy-LSCM, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy-XPS and other techniques. The results showed and revealed that the corrosion was maximal at 60 °C a...
متن کاملMechanical Properties and Corrosion Behavior of a Beta Titanium Alloy
Recently, people devote to the development of beta titanium alloys which have better biocompatibility because of the addition of Mo, Nb, Ta, Zr, Sn, et al. In this paper, the effects of heat treatment and cold roll deformation on the mechanical properties of the Ti-11.3Mo-6.6Zr-4.3Sn alloy (TMZS) are investigated by tensile test. The results show that the excellent combination of strength and d...
